Average Rating = 4.5 Total Reviews = 24 [5 Stars]: Good bang for the buck I bought the Porter Cable FR350MAG framing nailer because of its ability to drive real 16d full head nails. Although this is a good feature, it is not as important as I thought. It seems to split a lot of the studs when using these nails and I have since switched to the more common .131 nails. They don't seem to have nearly as bad an impact as far as splitting the studs go. It also works just great at driving plain old 8d and 10d nails. I've only used Senco nails in it and with those I have had only three or four jambs in about 20 boxes of nails. It even worked well with stainless steel nails. It is a breeze to load. This is more important than I thought, as you go through two clips very quickly when doing sheathing. One other point worth mentioning is the air requirements. A small portable air compressor just doesn't cut it when using the nailer heavily. You need about 115-120 psi of air to drive the larger 12d and 16d nails and quite a bit of it. Hence your air compressor needs to have a cut-in setting of at least 105-110 psi. Most smaller air compressors just don't have this feature.
[5 Stars]: Pleased so far! Have used this tool on one small job so far (shot about 1250 nails, two different sizes) and it is as reliable as advertised. Does not wear you out when used all day. I have used a Bostitch nailer previously, and the 350MAG is clearly the better nailer. I am a DIYer, and not a pro. This nailer should last me for a lifetime.
[5 Stars]: Best tool for DIYer with a compressor! Love this tool .....Makes making walls a snap
Rugged
Lighter than standard unit very helpful for bigger projects!
