Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.com Review
Designed for contractors working at heights of six feet, this Nailers professional Fall Protection Compliance Kit provides tradesmen security and comfort, while complying with OSHA regulations. The kit includes a one-size-fits-all harness, six-foot lanyard, 50-foot line with rope grab, multi-use anchor, and a large duffle bag. In the event of a fall, the shock absorber lanyard prevents stress to the body, while a multi-use anchor securely attaches to roofs or in corners when needed. The sturdy duffle bag conveniently stores and protects gear. --Jessica Reuling

[4 Stars]: I can't complain
For the money this is an alright kit. Everything functions well however it probably isn't durable enough for heavy use. The rope is only 1/2 or 5/8 thick and the harness is very basic. I would not recommend for someone that will be using this on a full time basis. For occasional use, or as a backup system this is a great product though. If you are going to be using a harness more than a few times a month do yourself a favor and buy something a little nicer.

[4 Stars]: Fall Protection Kit
Everything you need to tie off and be safe on a roof. This is for professional use and is not intended to give people who should not be up on a roof a false sense of security. It comes in a nice duffel bag for storage. This kit should not be shared by multiple workers. It should be used and cared for by one person, the person who's life may depend on it doing it's job. Check it throughly before and after every job. Replace any worn parts immediately and do not use it if any components are questionable.

[3 Stars]: Great product, poor instructions
The fall protection kit worked great. I have an extremely steep roof. I haven't done any roofing in about ten years, and I've never before worked on a roof so steep that I felt the need for a rope and harness. I felt completely secure up there... that is, after I figured out how it all worked.

The instructions are, at the same time, overly complicated and missing basic information. The complication is mainly due to required liability, legal mumbo-jumbo. The lack of clear cut basic information is just wrong. Other than following the pictures on the box there was nothing indicating which way the shock-absorbing lanyard should attach and very little on how the harness works. Those aren't the biggest issues, though. The proper use of the actual fall-arresting ascender is more of a problem. It needs to be noted that your weight cannot be on the device while down-climbing. If you pull on the device itself, it will slip down the rope. This may be obvious to those who have used these before, but not to the uninitiated. Pulling on the rope is fine, and necessary; the device will hold. Grab the body of the device on the way down and it comes with you. Hold the rope, not the device. Be careful.

I tested out the whole system hanging barely above the ground before going onto the roof. So, I sorted out these issues before they could have been dangerous.

If you've never worked on roofs or done climbing with ropes, I would not recommend this package. Instead, get a pro to do the work. Too many serious accidents occur to take the risk.
