[1 Stars]: big disapointment
big surprice, nail gun is not sequencial trigger. have to order seperate trigger part. takes a week to get the part tru hitachi. 1st job site use, use 1 1/4" coil roofing nail brand new box. could not get the nail to come out each shot. takes about 7 to 15 shot for 5 nail to comes out per shingle. move the chamber adjustment level to all position, check and lube nail moving mechanism. replace coil nail after coil nail. nail still will not come out each shot. did not recall having getting 5 nail at a time. what a disapointment. we own a hitachi framing nail gun, a hitachi jack hammer, a hitachi twin tank compressor. a hitachi miter saw. so we decide to get a hitachi roofing nail gun when my bostitch roofing nail gun fail. big mistake. should have buy a milwaukee instead, or bostitch (does not last but dependable when working). my advise, don't trust the brand, or buy online. buy local so you can return it fast when you have problem, specially 1st time use on the job site.

[5 Stars]: Nailer works great!
I used the Hitachi nailer to do a garage roof. It worked great. I am not a roofer, just a weekend guy who fixes stuff around the house. But there no problems with it. Twice it shot two nails at once but it was because I did not have the nailer level; so make sure you rest the nailer on the guide.

[5 Stars]: Reliable, Consistent, Jam-free Shingling
I'm a single family home build and remodel contractor. Previous to purchasing this nailer, I've used the old side-loading Bostitch roofers, the new senco roofers, and a couple off-brand cast iron units. The Hitachi exhibits the best and most reliable performance of any roofing nailer I've used. It fires off nails as quickly as I can tap them out with the only 'jams' occurring due to misshapen coils of nails. Depth of drive is easily adjusted and consistent, whether being slammed against the decking by a green laborer or the being skimmed across the shingle with the feather-light taps of a seasoned roofer. It has no problem piercing sheet metals such as flashing or steel J-channel, and performs remarkably well at off-angles such as those under soffits. I've probably roofed about 400 squares with this so far without a hitch. There was a rubber bumper on the front of the drive head area whose adhesive gave out after a few months - it didn't concern me, but I can see its usefulness when lowering the gun down from the roof deck by the hose. Coil changes are fast and simple, as is adjusting the floor late for different size nails. The last nail of the coil drops out the nose. Sequential firing with the bump fire trigger takes some getting used too: double-fires are most common when attempting seq. firing against material that bounces back. I wish Hitachi had integrated an adjustable exhaust port, but in the end, I reach for this nailer before any of the others.
