Product Description:

Here's a handy little nailer at a great price. Palm nailers have their fans, and if you're one of them, you'll like this model. Its 2.5 pounds are well-balanced and made even easier to handle because of the soft rubber palm pad and nice leather grip. One downside of palm nailers is the need to feed each nail individually, but the A20 features a magnetic nail guide that speeds up your driving. It's ideal for joust hangers, metal straps, and pole barn assembly. The home do-it-yourselfer will like it because it eliminates the dimpling that always goes along with hand nailing. Just a little pressure activates the firing mechanism for trouble-free fastening.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste

[2 Stars]: Don't purchase this tool if you want the leather grip!
This tool does a great job of quickly driving 16p nails. However, within 5 minutes of light use the included leather grip fell apart sending the tool crashing to the ground. Fortunately the nailer is otherwise solidly built and survived the fall with nothing more than a small ding on the corner. The leather used in the construction of the grip is no thicker than the leather used to make inexpensive work gloves and it is perforated where it is stitched and it tore right along the perforation on the back strap.

I called Senco to find that they just discontinued the leather grip (no surprise) and that they have no replacements in stock and no knowledge of future stock. My only option is to return the tool to Amazon or live without the grip.

This tool does a good job of driving nails, and the leather grip is not required for most applications. However, if you work on ladders and/or plan on using it for long periods of time, the grip becomes more valuable.

Shame on Senco for not at least having grips made with adequate materials for replacement purposes! I have been a loyal Senco user for years until now and have owned several of their nailers. Few palm nailers drive nails as large as this one is capable of, but I'm looking for other options and hope to send this back if I can.

I hope this helps..

[4 Stars]: Easy nailer
This palm held pneumatic nailer is quite satisfactory. It is particularly well suited to the task of nailing joist hangers, working overhead, or to other situations where the framing configuration limits the range of motion of a hammer. It certainly is not suitable for high productivity and not a replacement for a gun.

[2 Stars]: try another brand
Those of you who contract remodel jobs know just how handy a palm nailer can be installing Simpson hardware in those hard to get at places. In the 2+ years that I've put this tool to work it might have driven 8000 to 10,000 Teco nails. It's given up the ghost. In my collection of pneumatic tools the Senco brad nailers are among my favorites but this little unit disappoints me. Probabley made in China or hecko en Mexico. Try another brand.
