[4 Stars]: Hitachi NV 83 A2
First of all I'd like to thank the Know-It-Alls that "1 star" rated these nail guns just because they are recalled. Did you ever use one, even once? OK. Here is my story. I own several of these guns (and a bunch of other brands). They are extremely fast so they are NOT for the weekender or the new guys on your crew. They are everyones first choice, very durable and trouble free as long as they have plenty of clean air, good nails(not mishandled) and a little regular PM as outlined in the owner manual. They seem to have less jams than plastic stick nails, no slippery debris and anyway, stick nailers are torture when back nailing plywood. As other reviewers have stated they are versatile and I have used these for framing, sheathing, azek trim, siding, even Hardie siding and tile backer. They are the best on decks when using coil deck (ballistic) screws,(the contact element does not mar deck boards even without a stupid rubber tip to get lost)and the short magazine makes them great for blocking and remodels. Now to the recall; I called Hitachi, an intelligent, friendly CS rep gave me a claim number, handled pick up and delivery arrangements and I had all three guns back on the job in one week. All I had to do was pack them for shipping(they did a way better job for the return trip). I do have one gripe, ( reason for 4 stars ) the magazine is well designed and probably the easiest to adjust and load , but it is made of a brittle plastic. I've had a few of these break after only a small drop of 2-3 feet(now all have skyhooks-go to Tool Hangers Unlimited). The coil magazine assembly is still cheaper than the NR83's(they bend) . I own other brand coil nailers and Hitachi roofers, their magazines are softer and have never broken. Whew! Time to get off the soap box and get back to work. So, spend the extra bucks get the NV83A2 and in about 5 hard workin' years from now you'll look back and be glad you did!

[5 Stars]: awesome nail gun
I have two of these and love them, very consistent drive depth, good feed system very durable, I have had no problems for appx 5 years of service and would highly reccomend this nail gun.
I also like that there made in japan and not china or tiawan which seem to be more problem prone and usally junk.
I do have the comprable senco model as well and it been decent but have had to replace a couple drivers and the feed system doesn't work as well.

[1 Stars]: Product Recalled
WARNING - This nailer has been recalled due to reports of side-ejection of the nails, in some cases causing partial blindness
